Whalley Range Forum funding cut
The funding to the Forum has been cut by 5% for next year. This will enable the work of the part time Forum worker and admin support and some running costs, but does not allow for any event costs such as Celebrate.
The City Council carried out a consultation with community organisations such as the Forum who are in receipt of Council funding, and it was agreed that a 5% cut would be made to all groups. We are pleased that we are continuing to get funding at a time of great change and when many groups are struggling to survive. However the cuts mean that there is an increased need to make funding bids for additional activities but with less time to do this. As a result something may have to go. This year it may be Celebrate!
The Forum is reviewing the work it carries out, for example we would like to make the Website more accessible, but without additional funding or time may have to decide between some of its current activities, e.g. does News and Events go, and not Celebrate? If you have time and some experience we are keen to find people who could help with funding bids.
Please contact the Forum on 881 3744 or email info@whalleyrange.org
