SATURDAY 4TH DECEMBER 1.00pm - 4.00pm
St Margaret’s Church, Rufford Rd
The Pen Is Mightier than the Sword 8
For the eighth year running, Whalley Range for Peace and Justice
invite you to write some wrongs.
Join us as we write greetings cards
to political prisoners and prisoners of conscience around the world.
We use lists supplied by Amnesty International and War Resisters
International.
Last year we sent over 400 cards, covered the cost of
cards and postage and had enough left over to print some Whalley
Range cards of our own (making their debut this year) and make a
donation to Amnesty.
There will be seasonal refreshments and a variety of stalls,
including Olive Co-op, handmade wrapping paper, and a bookstall
from News from Nowhere in Liverpool, the only remaining radical
bookshop in the North.
And yes, I'm afraid we do take credit cards at
the bookstall!
There will be an activity table for younger people
who want to make their own cards, so it's a family affair.
