Alexandra Park was created in the 1870's by Manchester City Council as the first purpose built public promenading Park for people of Manchester. Our group has been running since 2001 and is here to help raise the profile of the Park, to help change the image and to help raise funds for the continued improvement of the Park. We organise regular events throughout the year to further encourage local people to come into and use the park, along with clean-up days where we all get our hands dirty along with the park staff to clean it up and make it a pleasent place to spend your time in. Along with help from the City Council, we apply for funding to ensure the up-keep of the remaining Victorian Buildings and restoration of our favourite green space.
